Merchant Taylors Company - Events with character
Crest of the Merchant Taylors Company

Perfect for impactful lunches, dinners and meetings, the luxurious Parlour also works well as a breakout room or exhibition space in addition toThe Great Hall. Hand-carved panelling rises to the ornate moulded ceiling; crimson velvet window seats nestle between flowing brocade; portraits, sconces, antiques and mirrors line the walls.

Room layout and details for The Parlour

The Parlour was built in 1681-82 and the splendid oak panelling fitted in 1783. The room was destroyed by incendiary bombs in 1940 but the reconstruction process gives much of the original effect. The furniture includes an impressive regency sideboard and wine cooler; the focal point of the room is a strikingly original convex minor purchased by the Company in 1804.
