Merchant Taylors Company - Events with character
Crest of the Merchant Taylors Company

This grand, triple-height space, one of the largest in The City, dates back to 1347. High stained-glass windows and dramatic chandeliers illuminate the warm mahogany panelling, creating an epic backdrop for concerts, exhibitions, dinner dances and more. A mezzanine gallery provides unobtrusive access for film and sound crews.

Room layout and details for The Great Hall

The Great Hall has twice been destroyed by fire - during the Great Fire of 1666 and by incendiary bombs in 1940 - but on each occasion the walls and foundations survived and were incorporated in the restored hall. The room is beautifully illuminated by original stained-glass windows and imbued with the rich warmth of the mahogany panelling. Above the main entrance, the Renatus Harris Organ, installed in 1966, is a work of great craftsmanship. This grand Hall is one of the largest in the City of London.

In the Great Hall, 3 phase power is available.
